Open Monument Day at the Museum Ephraim-Palais

Museum Ephraim-Palais
The history of the Ephraim-Palais is linked to its namesake, Veitel Heine Ephraim. The building was constructed between 1762 and 1769. It was reconstructed in the 1980s. It is located on Poststraße, on the corner of Mühlendamm in Berlin-Mitte.

Demolished in 1936 for a road extension, the Ephraim Palace was reconstructed for Berlin’s 750th anniversary celebrations and reopened as a museum in 1987. Discover BerlinZEIT on the 1st and 2nd floors! The permanent exhibition on the history of the city offers an entertaining tour of discovery through the centuries and at the same time a comprehensive overview of the sometimes revolutionary events in this city. All the senses are engaged: Feel medieval fabrics, smell your way back to 1740, see the original padlock from the Brandenburg Gate and listen to interviews with people who shaped Berlin at the time of reunification.

The special exhibition Berlin Backyards on the 3rd floor invites you to trace hidden places between past and present. And our object of the month awaits you on the ground floor.
