Through silk trading, architecture and the establishment of a brewery, the Knoblauch family helped shape life in Berlin during the Biedermeier period. Today, their former home is a museum. Artefacts, pictures, letters and family documents offer a glimpse into a bygone era. The “Berlin Salon” on the upper floor also showcases the metropolitan network of the silk merchant and politician Carl Knoblauch.

On this “Sunday at the Nikolai Quarter”, our experts will offer exclusive further insights into the period between the end of the Napoleonic Wars in 1815 and the Revolution of 1848. They will be happy to answer any questions. In addition, junior curators from the Thomas Mann Gymnasium (Märkisches Viertel) will be on hand for discussions at the special exhibition they have put together, “To have a Match!”. There, they will offer insights into their research on love, friendship and relationships then and now.

##### Visitors‘ note

Continuously from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

## The ‘Sunday at the Nikolai Quarter’

On the first Sunday of every month, we offer a special, wide-ranging programme for everyone at our three museums in the Nikolaiviertel. Families in particular are warmly invited – admission is free for everyone under 18 or for those eligible for concessions. Good reasons to look forward to great activities at the Museum Ephraim-Palais, the Museum Nikolaikirche and the Museum Knoblauchhaus!

Our solidarity-based pricing model offers free admission for adults with proof of concessions, including students, apprentices, those undertaking FSJ, FÖJ and BFD placements, people with severe disabilities, refugees, recipients of Bürgergeld or ALG I, and many others. Everyone else pays only the museum admission fee and can benefit from our discounted combined ticket for all three museums. The extensive programme is included in the price!
