# Organisation

Get to know our governing bodies, team and organisational structure at the Stiftung Stadtmuseum Berlin and find the right contact person for you.

Stiftung Stadtmuseum Berlin is a public-law foundation financed by funds from the State of Berlin. Its governing bodies, structure and tasks are defined by the Museum Foundation Act and the foundation’s statutes. The governing bodies of the foundation are the Executive Board and the Foundation Council.

The Stiftung Stadtmuseum Berlin is the sole shareholder of Stadtmuseum Berlin GmbH, the service company of the Stadtmuseum Berlin. It also brings together several independent and dependent foundations under its roof.

The Stadtmuseum Berlin employs a total of around 300 people, including almost 200 at the foundation alone, who work at the six museum locations, in administration or in the museum’s depots. In addition to the Executive Office, the foundation’s organisational structure is divided into four management areas as well as specialist teams and project teams.
