# Loans
The Stadtmuseum Berlin loans items from its collection of around 4.5 million objects on the history and culture of Berlin to museums in Germany and abroad.

Within the scope of its conservational activities and in compliance with applicable[ loan conditions](https://www.stadtmuseum.de/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Leihbedingungen.pdf) (in German language), the Stadtmuseum supports exhibition projects with loans from its collection.
Interested parties can search the[ collection online (in German)](https://www.stadtmuseum.de/sammlung/redirect-sammlung-online) or contact curators directly. Loan requests must be made in writing at least six months in advance (up to nine months for extensive loan requests).
