And yet differences between East and West continue to shape their everyday lives and working realities.<br><br>In this event, cultural practitioners from eastern Germany talk about where they still encounter these divides today. The discussion looks at disparities in income and access, as well as networks and representation, experiences of exclusion, and racism in the context of the post-reunification period and the current shift to the right.<br><br>Personal experiences meet broader social perspectives. You will gain insights into realities shaped by both freedom and ongoing barriers.<br><br>Taking part in the discussion are social worker and musician <strong>Ngoc Anh Nguyen<\/strong>, theatre-maker and actor <strong>Juliane Meckert<\/strong>, and author and podcaster <strong>Flor Fischer<\/strong>. She studied acting at the Mozarteum Salzburg and works both on stage and behind the scenes. <br>Her theatre productions engage with socio-political topics, including <em>Wir kriegen Euch Alle!<\/em> (2022, WESSER | MECKERT), which explores the so\u2011called \u201cbaseball bat years\u201d.<br>Since 2024, she has been working on the long-term performative documentary project <em>BETRAYAL (working title)<\/em>, which looks at betrayal, trust and the lasting effects of the East German secret police. The project explores how surveillance, denunciation and ideological loyalty shaped people\u2019s lives, and how these experiences continue to influence society and politics today.<br>Her work focuses on site-specific, performative and participatory formats, often developed in collaboration with so\u2011called \u201cexperts of everyday life\u201d, with particular attention to space, ritual, memory and transformation.\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/block-accordion-item>\n\n\n\n\n<block-accordion-item inline-template>\n\t<div ref=\"item\" data-id=\"NgocAnhNguyen\" class=\"block-accordion-item vue-initialize\" role=\"tab\" aria-expanded=\"false\" :aria-expanded=\"active ? Under the artist name ANOTHER NGUYEN, she releases empowering pop music addressing themes of identity, belonging and cultural visibility.<br>Alongside her music, she is involved in projects such as the award-winning Vietnamese-German film initiative <em>Drehs Um<\/em> and performs as both a musician and actor in the theatre production <em>Do You Hear Me<\/em>.<br>With <em>Du schaffst das schon \/ C\u1ed1 l\u00ean con<\/em>, released in collaboration with Sony Music, she created the first Vietnamese-German children\u2019s song, opening up new visibility for Vietnamese-German children and families.<br>As a family support worker, she works with families in a wide range of situations and brings these experiences into both her artistic and social practice. In 2023, she was a member of the Open Space jury at BERLIN GLOBAL.\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/block-accordion-item>\n\n\n\n\n<block-accordion-item inline-template>\n\t<div ref=\"item\" data-id=\"FlorFischer\" class=\"block-accordion-item vue-initialize\" role=\"tab\" aria-expanded=\"false\" :aria-expanded=\"active ?
