In 2014, the Stadtmuseum Berlin assembled an interdisciplinary team dedicated to researching particularly valuable and historic clocks made in Berlin. The result: 41 clocks from the 18th and 19th centuries can now be viewed online.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<div class=\"col-xs-12 col-md-3 col-md-offset-1 padding-top-sixth\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"box margin-bottom-sixth \">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"zeplin-copySmall\"><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n<section class=\"block block-copy settings-intend\">\n\t<div class=\"container-fluid\">\n\t\t<div class=\"row\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"col-xs-12 col-md-7\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"copy\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Frederick the Great (1712-1786) commissioned Berlin-based clockmakers to design handcrafted clocks specially to his taste and played a major role in promoting the still nascent craft in Berlin. In 2014, they began working with private collectors to assemble a valuable archive. Images and descriptions of 41 historical clocks are now available to on the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.museum-digital.de\/\">Museum-Digital<\/a>\u00a0platform for experts and laypeople alike.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n\n<section class=\"block block-buttons block-buttons-callToAction\">\n\t<div class=\"container-fluid\">\n\t\t<div Museum-Digital\u00a0<\/a>was carried out with funding from the Senate Department for Culture and Europe, with the coordination and support of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.digis-berlin.de\/\">Research and Competence Centre Digitalization Berlin<\/a>\u00a0(digiS).<br><br>The team of researchers includes employees of the Stiftung Preu\u00dfische Schl\u00f6sser und G\u00e4rten Berlin-Brandenburg (Prussian Palaces and Gardens Foundation Berlin-Brandenburg), the Kunstgewerbemuseum (Museum of Decorative Arts), the Musikinstrumenten-Museum (Museum of Musical Instruments) and the Stadtmuseum Berlin.
