Day of action at the Museum Ephraim-Palais

Museum Ephraim-Palais
The history of the Ephraim Palace is linked to its namesake, Veitel Heine Ephraim. The building was erected between 1762 and 1769. It was reconstructed in the 1980s. It is located on the corner of Poststraße and Mühlendamm in Berlin-Mitte.

Discover the BerlinZEIT! On the 1st and 2nd floors of the Museum Ephraim-Palais, the exhibition offers you an entertaining discovery tour through the centuries and at the same time a comprehensive overview of the sometimes revolutionary events in this city. All the senses are addressed: Feel medieval fabrics, smell your way back to 1740, see the padlock from the original Brandenburg Gate and listen to interviews with people who shaped Berlin at the time of reunification.

And that’s not all that awaits you on this day! A family tour through ‘BerlinZEIT’ offers fun for young and old. On the ‘Freistellen’ (Free Spaces) in the exhibition, we recall the last anti-colonial freedom movement in Africa, which was also active from Berlin. The Schlütersaal is transformed into a colourful fairytale world for children. And on the 3rd floor, the special photographic presentation Berlin im Blick shows current, personal perspectives on the city.

The ‘Sunday at the Nikolai Quarter’

With this day of action, the Stadtmuseum Berlin is continuing the popular Museum Sunday, which unfortunately cannot be continued in 2025 due to cost-cutting measures by the Berlin Senate. Instead, on the first Sunday of the month, we are offering a special, wide-ranging program for everyone in our three museums in the Nikolai Quarter. Families in particular are cordially invited – admission is free for children and adolescents under the age of 18! So you can still look forward to great offers at the Museum Ephraim-Palais, the Museum Nikolaikirche and the Museum Knoblauchhaus!

Even if admission can no longer be free for everyone, it will at least remain so for many: Our solidarity pricing model offers free admission for adult visitors with proof of discount, including students, trainees, FSJ, FÖJ and BFD volunteers, people with disabilities, refugees, recipients of citizen’s allowance or ALG I and many more. All others only pay the museum entrance fee and can benefit from our reduced-price combined ticket for all three museums. The extensive action day program is included in the price!
