On 17 May, we are celebrating International Museum Day. Admission is free, so we invite you to visit the open-air museum.
Regular: Free of charge
8h
The open-air museum in the Berlin district of Nikolassee (Steglitz-Zehlendorf), which is open seasonally, offers adults and children a journey of discovery into the life, landscape and rural culture of the Middle Ages.
The museum village is modelled on a medieval settlement dating from 1170 to 1220. The houses, with their village square and gardens, provide an insight into everyday life in the countryside during the Middle Ages. During the season, they are built and maintained by the Förderverein Museumsdorf Düppel e.V. and brought to life at weekends.
Info
International Museum Day will take place for the 49th time in 2026. Annually designated by the International Council of Museums (ICOM) to fall on 18 May, it will be celebrated in Germany this year on the third Sunday of the month.
