Governing Bodies

The governing bodies of the Stiftung Stadtmuseum Berlin are the Foundation Council and the Executive Board.

The Foundation Council is the supervisory body of the Stiftung Stadtmuseum Berlin. Its task is to monitor the activities of the Executive Board and to decide on particularly important matters concerning the foundation. All members of the Foundation Council work on a voluntary basis.

Executive Board

The Executive Board manages the affairs of the Stiftung Stadtmuseum Berlin. The Executive Board of the foundation is appointed for a term of five years. Sophie Plagemann has been Executive Director and Artistic Director since 1 September 2024. With the entry into force of the new Museum Foundation Act, a dual executive board consisting of the Artistic Director and the Management Director will be established.
