The historic Nikolaikirche is the centre of Berlin and the heart of the Nikolai Quarter. As Berlin’s oldest preserved church building, it now houses a museum. The permanent exhibition tells the story of the building and Berlin’s urban development in the Middle Ages, while a special exhibition artistically explores the city’s colonial past.

For this year’s “Nikolaizauber”, we invite you to visit the Museum Nikolaikirche for a whole weekend free of charge. Talk to our live speakers about Berlin’s past and discover family activities such as the audio guide or an exciting rally for children. In front of the neighbouring Nikolaiviertel museum laboratory, there are also historical games for young and old to take part in outdoors.
