Digital Accessibility Statement

The Stadtmuseum Berlin takes seriously the right to equal cultural participation enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (Article 27) and is continuously working towards an inclusive programme including barrier-free digital offerings.

Examination

The declaration on digital accessibility is made in accordance with the Berlin Accessible Information and Communication Technology Act (BIKTG Bln). The technical requirements for accessibility result from the Barrier-free Information Technology Ordinance (BITV) 2.0. This declaration on digital accessibility applies to the offer www.stadtmuseum.de and www.stadtmuseum.de/en.

Accessibility

The areas listed below are not barrier-free for the following reasons:

  • insufficient keyboard focus; not all elements of the page are accessible or operable via keyboard
  • Some PDF documents are not barrier-free
  • Images and control elements sometimes have no, insufficient or incorrect alternative text.

Actions

This website was extensively renewed (relaunched) in November 2022, with numerous accessibility aspects improved. We are continuously working to further improve this website.

Re-examination in the first quarter of 2023, followed by further improvement.

Conciliation

We will endeavour to answer your enquiries within a reasonable period of time (usually a maximum of two weeks).
If you do not receive an answer or are completely or partially dissatisfied with the answer, you can contact the conciliation board for the Federal Equal Opportunities Act (Schlichtungs­stelle zum Bundesgleichstellungs­gesetz). The conciliation board will examine your case and try to find a solution within the framework of a conciliation procedure.

You can apply to the conciliation board for the initiation of conciliation proceedings. The application can be made by filling out an online form, in writing by post, by e-mail or by recording it at the office of the conciliation board.

If your contact with the public body is unsuccessful, you can contact the State Commissioner for Digital Accessibility at the Senate Department for the Interior, Digitalisation and Sport (Landesbeauftragte für digitale Barrierefreiheit bei der Senatsverwaltung für Inneres, Digitalisierung und Sport).
