After almost two successful years, BERLIN GLOBAL invites you to the closing event of the Open Space “Liberty, Equality, Solidarność.

Polish Viewpoints in Berlin”. With performances by Ewa Maria Slaska, Sinus_3 (Anna Krenz and Marzena Zajączkowska) and Jemek Jemowit, as well as a concert by Duxius, we look forward to celebrating this project with you.

The Open Space “Liberty, Equality, Solidarność” at BERLIN GLOBAL takes visitors to Polish-influenced places of solidarity and resistance in Berlin.

Artists Ewa Maria Slaska, Anna Krenz and Jemek Jemowit present Polish perspectives on everyday life in Berlin, as well as on cohesion, belonging and experiences of discrimination. They encourage the audience to take a seat in the red armchairs, exchange views on their different standpoints and build new solidarities.

Ewa Maria Slaska is a writer, journalist, blogger and project manager. She has lived in exile in Berlin since 1985. In 2003, she received the German-Polish Journalism Award. On her blog “Ewa Maria and Friends”, she publishes a daily post on cultural, social, historical or political topics together with around 350 authors. In August 2025, her new novel “Sen amerykański. Pokolenie Solidarności” was released. Under the title “Polnischer American Dream. Generation Solidarność”, it is also available in German as a PDF.

Anna Krenz is an artist, illustrator, editor and activist. She studied Technology/Energy Architecture (Poznań University) and Environment & Sustainable Design (Architectural Association, London). Krenz is the founder and a member of the Berlin initiative Dziewuchy Berlin (founded in 2016), a civic movement that supports Polish women internationally and actively advocates for women’s and human rights in Poland and Germany. As an artist, she uses creative means to take part in various protests and actions in Berlin and Poland. She is also a co-founder of the design studio and think tank Sinus_3.

Ziemowit Nowak was born in 1986 in Gdynia, Poland, and grew up in Berlin-Gropiusstadt. He is better known under his alter ego Jemek Jemowit, the Gothic-Glam underground musician. His artistic career spans various genres and shapes the music scene with a political and conceptual approach. His work currently focuses on anti-Eastern European racism in Germany.

Works: “Wave and Groom” (2010), “Zemsta” (2011), “TEKKNO POLO” (2013), “Jemek Jemowit is Doktor Dres” (2015), “Das satanische Album” (2018), the protest song duology (2020), the rock opera “Legenda Zygmunta Blask” (2021) and “The Ancestry” (2025).

Marzena Zajączkowska is an architect, urban planner and artist. Educated at the Poznań University of Technology, with postgraduate studies at the Bauhaus Dessau and in painting at the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław, Zajaczkowska gained professional experience in England with PDG Architects (2004–2010) and later conducted research on energy-efficient architecture at the University of Zielona Góra.

As a licensed architect with unlimited design and construction qualifications, she has run her own studio, Marzena Zajaczkowska (minimalDEsign), since 2012, and is a member of the Chamber of Architects of the Republic of Poland.

She is a co-founder of the Sinus_3 think tank. Her artistic practice explores photography, video, sound, and painting.

Duxius is the music project of Berlin-based artist Edyta Rogowska-Żak (aka Didi). With a fearless voice and raw stage presence, she has crafted a unique sound she calls “Polish Future Retro” – a fusion of nostalgia and modern authenticity that dares to be both fragile and flamboyant.
Singing in Polish, English, and German, Duxius moves naturally between languages, reflecting today’s multilingual reality. Her music invites listeners into an emotional space where rhythm, presence, and connection matter more than genre boundaries.
