Since the Middle Ages, St. Nicholas’ Church has been a defining feature of the Nikolaiviertel district and the centre of Berlin: once a place of worship, now a museum of church, architectural and urban history.

After work concert to mark the start of the weekend, featuring organ music by historical female composers in Berlin’s oldest surviving church building.

From 3 October 2025 to 2 October 2026, organ music from centuries past will be performed every Friday at the Museum Nikolaikirche by a varying cast of organists, the majority of whom will be women.

Please note:

We can only provide a limited number of seats for concerts at the museum. Your ticket entitles you to attend the concert, but does not guarantee you a seat. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Born in England, the organist studied organ in Birmingham (bachelor’s degree) and Berlin (master’s degree), graduating with honours. He pursues an extensive concert career that has taken him to many important musical venues in Germany, including the Frauenkirche in Dresden. This afternoon, he will perform works by Elizabeth Jacquet de la Guerre, among others.

The Dutch organist works at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in The Hague, where he plays the historic Bätz organ from 1762. In Kampen, he is also titular organist at the Burgwal and Broederkerk churches. This afternoon, he will play works by Elizabeth Jacquet de la Guerre, among others.

Hanna Cho, trained in Seoul (Korea) and Lübeck and currently studying for her concert exam in Berlin, combines international concert experience with a deep passion for the organ. This afternoon, she will perform works by Elizabeth Jacquet de la Guerre, among others.

The versatile Berlin church musician and concert organist combines church music with creative influences from opera, dance and jazz. He has been cantor at the Luisenkirche in Charlottenburg since 2017. This afternoon’s programme will include works by Elizabeth Jacquet de la Guerre.

Born in Russia, the organist has been studying organ at the University of Music and Theatre in Leipzig since October 2021. In October 2023, she will continue her studies as a master class student. The programme will include works by Elizabeth Jacquet de la Guerre, among others.

Born in Australia and raised in the United Kingdom, Moss Beynon Juckes is a multidisciplinary dance artist, composer and somatic practitioner based in Berlin. The versatile Berlin church musician and concert organist Jack Day combines church music with creative impulses from opera, dance and jazz. He has been cantor at the Luisenkirche in Charlottenburg since 2017. This afternoon’s programme will include works by Elizabeth Jacquet de la Guerre.

The Chinese concert organist, choir director and lecturer at the Berlin University of the Arts studied concert organ and church music at the Stuttgart University of Music and Performing Arts and at the Berlin University of the Arts. She furthered her training in Toulouse. This afternoon, she will be playing works by Elizabeth Jacquet de la Guerre, among others.

The versatile musician Lea Rahel Bader regularly performs on the modern cello, baroque cello and viola da gamba. She teaches baroque cello and basso continuo practice for low strings at the Berlin University of the Arts. The versatile Berlin church musician and concert organist Jack Day combines church music with creative impulses from opera, dance and jazz. He has been cantor at the Luisenkirche in Charlottenburg since 2017. This afternoon’s programme will include works by Elizabeth Jacquet de la Guerre.
