What would you like for the neighbourhood – from a possible reconstruction of the New Waisenbrücke as a car-free link to the Marinehaus and Märkisches Museum of the Stiftung Stadtmuseum Berlin? Table tennis tables, deckchairs and bingo sets to borrow, hands-on objects to explore, or simply a listening ear and affordable drinks? We’re collecting your ideas – and celebrating them with music, dancing and ice lollies!

Programme

A colourful programme awaits you, featuring

  • clown Ruthie Scarpino,
  • the Wishes Office, where your ideas are turned into a huge illustrated poster by artists Burcu Türker and Sheree Domingo,
  • historical children’s games,
  • as well as music and performances by musicians from the Fanny Hensel Music School,
  • the K‑pop dance group “HeartCore”,
  • and the salsa big band “La Melodica”.

Ruthie Scarpino

Ruthie Scarpino is a clown, corporeal mime artist and circus performer from the wild regions of Maine. Most recently, she worked as a guest director at America’s oldest children’s theatre, leading an intergenerational ensemble through physical theatre, corporeal mime and collective working methods.

La Melodica

La Melodica brings the energy and elegance of the golden era of salsa dura to the stage with full force. Led by pianist Jonatan Morgenstern, the ensemble of Latin American and European musicians has quickly become a fixture of Berlin’s salsa scene and now also captivates audiences on stages across Germany. With their own concert and party series “Fuego36” at Berlin’s Bi Nuu and their electrifying live shows, La Melodica has built a reputation for moving audiences with passion, precision and pure joy of playing.

Accessibility Information

The event takes place outdoors on Märkischer Platz by the waterfront. The nearest step-free public transport stations with lifts are S+U Jannowitzbrücke (approx. 400 metres) and U Märkisches Museum (approx. 300 metres). Wallstraße along the Spree riverbank is a designated cycle street. Unfortunately, there are no designated disabled parking spaces in the immediate vicinity.

A step-free, paid public toilet is located in Köllnischer Park (approx. 3 minutes’ walk, Rungestraße 31). Baby-changing facilities are not available.
Programme activities take place on a lawn. The paths across the grass towards the waterfront are unpaved and may be muddy or uneven, depending on the weather. The Spree riverbank is only accessible via steps. Various seating options are provided, including chairs and benches. Picnicking is welcome on the lawn.

At the on-site information stand, our team will be happy to help with any questions. If needed, we can assist with navigating the lawn, finding suitable seating and accessing programme areas.
