Between club sound, graffiti and beatboxing, a multi-faceted, cross-location portrait of Berlin’s hip-hop culture is being created at the Ephraim Palace Museum, the Nikolaikirche Museum and the Berlin Exhibition at the Humboldt Forum – co-created by Giò Di Sera aka Don Rispeto, artistic director of ‘StreetUniverCity Berlin e. V.’.
At the Museum Ephraim-Palais, East West Hype Disco brings Berlin beats to the dance floor with DJ sets and ‘Rap to go’. Our special exhibition “Berlin Backyards” on the third floor focuses on beats in Berlin courtyards. Giò Di Sera aka Don Rispetto and curator Verda Kaya explain how backyards became stages for urban youth culture. Family tours of the exhibition offer exciting insights into these hidden living spaces for people of all ages.
And that’s not all: discover BerlinZEIT too! On the first and second floors of the Museum Ephraim-Palais, the exhibition offers you an entertaining journey of discovery through the centuries and, at the same time, a comprehensive overview of the sometimes revolutionary events that have taken place in this city.
