Born in (West) Berlin, Susanne Hinneberg has known Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf since her childhood, when Kurfürstendamm still marked the border between the two formerly separate districts.

From an early age, she moved between the sophisticated world of art, culture and luxury stores along Ku’damm, and the areas of visible poverty that existed then and now, and not just in the side streets. She financed her professional training with jobs in both disreputable bars and upscale restaurants, and later worked in renowned law firms.

On her tour, Susanne talks about the right to housing; social housing and property speculation; cultural participation and poverty in old age. She also talks about what it feels like to suddenly lose your flat and no longer have a home, and how homelessness can affect anyone.

The tour is held in German.
