At the calligraphy workshop of the Japanese-German Centre Berlin (JDZB), anyone can learn the Japanese art of beautiful writing. Using paper, ink and brushes, you can create characters or your favourite word in Japanese calligraphy to take home with you. The workshop is led by the multi-award-winning calligraphy master Saiu Minagawa. Watch the artist at work and learn exciting facts about different styles and Japanese fonts in a personal conversation.
 
The Japanese-German Centre Berlin is a non-profit foundation that promotes German-Japanese and international exchange in business, science, culture, society and politics. It celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2025. Further information is available on the JDZB website.
